You have to be a sucker to think that debt is the solution. Think of the chain reaction. Goldman with friends are buying houses to turn US to a rental society. MA city halls are telling renters to not pay their rents, unemployment will be massive the next two years. How would the people pay their rents? You think the banks will not take away the 4-6 houses that a person may have invested as rental properties. Is coming and the blind and the arrogant can’t see it but they will soon. They will take your investment houses and there will be nothing you would be able to do.

First rung on the ladder of economic stability is existence. The US has good stable neighbors. Long distances between us and our largest enemies. The largest military in the world by nearly 2x the next closest military. In sort the US is well defended. At the end of the day, the capacity to exist is the primary importance to having a safe currency. The bricks, and euro countries aren't exactly under immediate threat, but they don't have the same level of security that the US has. I mean stuff like the world trade center bombings happen every few years in other countries, and it's just considered to be expected. When it happened to us we freaked the hell out and spent 20 years making sure that we left an impression with no real economic or security benefit to ourselves... Most places don't do that. Next step up on the ladder is population. The US population, along with our neighbors, have flat growth populations. Meanwhile, most European and Asian countries have aging populations with much smaller younger demographics. Countries like Japan will be able to make up for a lot of this with automation and technology, and a chunk of Europe will have access to automation tech by relationships they have with allies like Korea, Japan, and the US. Without that, a retiring population will decimate a countries economy. Next step up the ladder of economic viability are resources. The US is weird, because while most countries have a traditional export thry are known for, the US doesn't have that. The US exports services, ip, tech, as well as traditional goods and materials. The US has spent the last 30 years reducing dependance on imports. We are self-sufficient for things like food, energy/fuel, durable goods, etc. Then within north America we have close relationships to provide pretty much everything except for some rare earth minerals, and some steps in the tech supply chain (and we are actively working on both of those right now). The US is still all about trade and imports, but because we enjoy variety. If the world economy collapses, our exports would transition to self consumption, and we would be hurt but fine. We grow when the world grows, but if the world stops growing, the US is increasingly insulated at a macro level. And again, this is something that only actually exists in Russia and nowhere else in the world... And Russia has their own internal issues that makes them incapable of remaining a superpower. Next rung up the ladder is monetary policy. And people get all bent out of shape about us spending... But then they look to places like bricks nations or euro nations as the usd replacement? Oh boy, do I have bad news for you if you think that the US has a spending problem 😅. I mean seriously, we can and should do better with our spending, or at the very least get our taxes in line with our spending. But the idea that the countries and economies that are proposed as the viable alternative are doing better? Oh heck no. One could make the argument that because other countries have such poor fiscal policies that the US is almost required to devalue our own money faster if we want the usd to not spike global markets. On the flip side to this is the gdp of a country. A currency is supported by the economic activity of a country. The EU spends a lot of social programs that don't add to the overall economic growth of their countries. China's gdp is mostly spend subsidizing poorly thought out and integrated infrastructure projects intended to support a much larger future population that doesn't exist... Literal bridges to nowhere. The US is again not perfect, but the vast majority of our economic activity is our genuine economy and private business. You can't just look at raw gdp numbers to measure the actual since of useful productivity of a country. If a country is spending all of its money on empty high speed rail that can't even approach 50% of its top speed, then can they really claim gdp growth on such a project? I would say that is not only not growth, but the support of suvh an underutilized system becomes a major drag on the economy rather than support. Lastly, the world is a big place, and there have been and can be multiple reserve currencies at the same time. Arguments can be made that the usd, euro, and yuan are all 3 required currencies for any country that wants to conduct any amount of world trade at scale. Because you need all 3 of these "on reserve" to do business, they are all 3 important reserve currencies. Things that undermine the value of any of these 3 currencies cause major problems for the world. I've got lots of pride in the strength of the US and our well placed moves for decades of being more independent as well as a trading more on the world stage. But the idea that the US alone is the world currency, or that other reserve currencies are somehow a threat to us (or us to them) is misunderstanding how the global economy works. It's not us vs them, it is us and them, and others, and not every transaction should ever be expected to be done with a single currency. That would be a silly expectation. But of those big 3 reserve currencies, the money will flow to the strongest and most healthy economy and country backing it. If the euro zone beefed up defence, sorted out their demographics, and focused more on output then welfare, they could absolutely overtake the usd as the primary reserve. If China figured out how to get out from under pooh bear, and went back to previous administration policies that actually built practical infrastructure, and trade instead of debt trap development projects that are unprofitable, or scamp megaprojects that line the pockets of party members instead of building viable infrastructure, then China could also take the top spot from the usd. Those things are not happening. It's not that the US is all that great of a country, we are just the smartest idiot on the world stage. We have got problems. They rest of the world just causes themselves even more problems. 😅

Now as far as gold is concerned yes I feel I must have that because of the currency devaluation that's going on and the fact that central banks all over the world are stockpiling gold. And now that gold is a tier one asset it is considered the highest form of payment on the planet by the bank of international settlements and that's good enough for me. When the great reset or the new world order comes, I feel that gold will be repriced to new levels and some countries will use it to back their currencies which should boost the value even more, along with gold, art with auction history and real estate are hard assets which over time have held their value and should be good in the future for accumulation of wealth for those that have the money. Gold mines now are not producing because they are lacking the funds mostly and waiting for guys like you to give them your money and you never know if they are going to give you a return or not. Forget Crypto that is cashed based and when the big one comes, it will drop like a stone and will not come back.

I try to always carry a balance between $0 to $1,000 on all of my credit cards combined, as well as maintaining enough cash to pay them off at a moment's notice, if necessary. We've finally gotten to the position where we are able to save and buy a lightly used car outright, as car loans are just a total money suck that ends up being primarily a liability. I tend to save in real money, so that I'll have the extra funds for a considerably longer period of time. Clearly, the US is headed for a disaster at some point. I guess we'll see how it goes.
